oh and also does Caltech count legacy? what if I am going to get a rec letter from a Caltech professor?

thanks! :)

At first glance, there's nothing that stands out. If you can help it, don't report that you got a 3 on your physics AP.

A recommendation from a Caltech professor could be a huge deal though, depending on who it is and how much of an impression you left on him/her. How did you get to know a prof here?

my dad works at caltech

do most applicants acutally fill out the entire supplement. looking at it, the app does seem very intense.

well you HAVE to fill out the entire supplement. It's not optional...so yeah

I have asked someone in admissions - Caltech does not give any legacy credit.

oh wow how do you know people in admissions?

I know that you have to fill out the entire supplement but there are optional sections for like research papers, AIME score, etc how much do those factor in? I basically will fill up everything with pretty good stuff except for the AIME, never took it :(
