OK though i messed up BIG time my frosh/soph years of high school, I got everything together in my junior year. I am an IB student, and I scored a 27 on my ACT, I have yet to take the SAT. I am on the soccer team, debate team, mock trial, and I have done a lot of volunteer work (I have over 200 service hours), I completed an internship at an Art Center in the southern Beverly Hills area of Chicago, and I performed in two plays there.

Is U of I a match for me? I want to be a lawyer, and I think going here would be a good precursor for when i go to Yale Law.

If ACT average for University of Illinios- UC is 28.5, and you have a 27 I would doubt your ACT score will be a hudge factor in your admission or not ( unless their average was like a 31)… also speaking there is no standard ACT score for admission, but ofcourse being much below average will take affect.

College GPA and LSAT scores matter more for law school than which school you go to for undergrad. One of my friends (who is going to WashU with almost a full ride for law school) said the undergrad school is the last thing they look at.

Which is why I said its a low reach. If your scores are below the middle 50%, how can it be a match? Plenty of people with ACT score of 30 or above got rejected this year.

UIUC on general has very number based orientation.
