Thanks!!

Why you? Your SATs are OK, you have a couple AP tests, but why you?

You haven't listed anything that's particularly interesting---just a bunch of numbers that look like all the other peoples'. What are you passionate about? What sets you apart from the other equally or better-numbered applicants?

Well to be honest... I have great test scores and everything, but I don't have a lot going for me other than that.

I was active in my school and community during my freshman and sophomore years, but I had to give up pretty much everything once junior year began for family reasons. I would have continued with it if the situation were different.

That said, I am editor of our school's yearbook, I have a job, and I do some short term community service. I also have an outstanding essay.

Do you think colleges will understand?

baby turn around and let me see that sexy body go

Colleges WILL understand. Your job is to present it to them in the way in which they would notice you and understand. Your options are to write a beautiful, unique essay and/or to perform very maturely on the interviews. Colleges do not want those who just spend 24 hours a day in front of textbooks (that kind of people will not be able to bring that much back to their schools).
Admissions officers want to see people who will be successful in life, and if you know how to go through the hustle and stay fresh, go baby go. The only task for now is to present yourslef in the right light.
Do take a look at my thread, and see if your situation is similar to mine. I will be waiting for your ffedback;):

PLEASEEEEE OHHH MYY GAWD SHOULD l HAVE CHANGED MY TITLE?!/>!

chances? :)

I’d guess that you would get into BC, Villanova, USC, UC-Boulder, and UCLA and probably get into Georgetown and Vandy.

who knows about harvard, yale, or dartmouth tho. its impossible to guess with ivy league schools. its a crapshoot for anyone.

i would agree with one of the earlier comments, there is no specific passion or interesting quirk displayed by your OP, however I bet you could make up for that with your essay or by explaining your family situation.

HYP might be out of the question, but I would say that you have good chances at Middle Ivies ( Columbia, UPenn) and lower ivies ( Dartmouth, Brown, Cornell)

If you wrote your essay on your family situation it might help get you into schools since they would then realize why you didn’t do as much stuff Junior and Senior year as you did as an underclassmen.
