Chance a stressed out junior for some selective schools? I'll be your best friend!

I really hope no one figures out who I am :P I'm being much more specific than I want to be on the internet, because I want to be realistically chanced.
I KNOW THIS IS LONG, BUT I WILL LOVE YOU IF YOU REALLY READ IT AND CHANCE ME!

So, I go to a really small private school. As such, all my options are limited. No AP classes, seniors get all the leadership positions, and all that jazz. Anywhoo, here are the stats:

Weighted GPA from frosh and soph years: 4.395/4.43
Projected GPA after junior year: 4.36ish
Unweighted GPA: My school doesn't do unweighted, but probably like 3.8? Top 5%, I think.
First SAT: 2140 (M: 630 CR: 770 W: 740)
Second SAT: 2270 (M:770 CR:740 W: 760
SAT superscored: 2300 (M:770 CR: 770 W: 760)
PSAT: 226 (M: 70 CR: 76 W:80)

In terms of classes, there's nothing terribly exciting. No APs. I am, however, taking the most rigorous schedule available to me. My grades through high school so far are all A's, a couple of A+'s, and one B+. I'll probably end this year with all A's and one B+ (physics is crazy at my school).

Extra Curriculars:
Soccer (9,10, probably 12)
Girl Scouts (9,10,11,12) - Going for the Gold Award, highest possible achievement
Community Service Club (9,10,11,12) - Chairperson
Mock Trial (9,10,11,12) - Maybe captain next year? We've progressed pretty far in the state competition for the past couple of years :)
Spanish Club (9,10,11,12) - Vice President
Model UN (10,11,12) - We're not allowed to do it during 9th grade, smh. I've been to three conferences and won Outstanding Delegate at one and Best Delegate another. Hoping to win a couple more. Might be captain next year.
Model Congress (11,12) - Haven't gone yet :P Hopefully an award.
Debate - (11,12) - Nothing, really. I think I might win something next year, though.
Yearbook - (10,11,12)

Work/Volunteering
I've done roughly 200 hours of community service.
Volunteered at a hospital
Volunteered as a summer camp counselor
Tutoring - through school
Volunteer with an organization that helps disadvantaged students overseas

Kind of Miscellaneous:
Last summer, I did an online community college course (in Literature, if it matters), and got an A. I also volunteered at a hospital.
This summer, I have an internship at a research institute, and then I'm going to try to volunteer overseas.

Schools:
Yale
Columbia
Princeton
University of Pennsylvania
Georgetown
I guess the rest of the Ivies (but the mentioned ones are my top choices)
University of Chicago
Johns Hopkins
Barnard College
NYU
UVA
Lehigh

Don't worry - I have safeties. This is my reach list.
I'd really appreciate it if you could try to be as specific as possible about my chances. (Please don't say, "Your chances are just as small as everyone else's", because believe me, I know.)

WOW! your resume seems to be perfect lol I’m so jealous! Great grades, SAT, and ec’s. I think that although all ivies are a reach for everyone, you are a very competitive applicant and if they don’t consider someone like you, then who will they take? I also think that NYU and UVA are matches. Johns Hopkins may also be a match (unless you’re applying for direct medical or something crazy like that haha). What is your intended major?

Good luck!!

If you don’t mind, can you chance me here?: <a href=“Please chance me!! I'll chance back - #8 by joann0510 - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>Please chance me!! I'll chance back - #8 by joann0510 - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums;

(On a side note, I’m really trying to improve my CR score to at least 700+ … do you have any tips? can you message me if you do? thanks  )

I agree with @2015er , you have great stats!
I’d say the ivies are reach (because they’re ivies…) except maybe cornell, and the other schools are match!
Congratulations and good luck!

Chance me?
<a href=“Please chance me!! I'll chance back - #9 by 2015er - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>Please chance me!! I'll chance back - #9 by 2015er - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums;

@2015er Thank you so much! My intended major is probably Political Science or International Relations, but I’ll probably try to get on the pre-med track. I’m not sure if I can really give you much advice for critical reading, since it’s not something I studied for (math, however, is a different story :P)… just remember that 99% of the time, it’s easy to eliminate all of the answer choices but two. Then, pick the better answer between the two that are left. This is the hard part, mostly since both answers seem applicable a lot of the time. But try to pick the answer that ETS thinks is correct, not the one YOU think is correct (sometimes they’re the same, obviously). Doing practice tests gives you a vague idea of what answers ETS expects. I hope that helps!

@joann0510 Thank you for the feedback! Do you think there’s anything I can do to improve or be more competitive?

Well obviously you are a very competitive applicant academically, but so is every one else that applies to the Ivys. I would recommend playing up mock trial and MUN in the application process since it shows your interest in polisci.

My thread (chance please): <a href=“Chances for Vanderbilt, UNC, NYU, UF, and Duke? - Chance Me / Match Me! - College Confidential Forums”>http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1610985-chances-for-vanderbilt-unc-nyu-uf-and-duke-p1.html</a></p>

You look as good as any competitive applicant for the top colleges, but that’s still ~70% of their applicant pool. Nothing stands out to me as incredibly compelling, but it could go either way. Write good essays and your chances will improve. Barnard, NYU, and Lehigh are low matches.

You have very good stats and activities

Yale: Reach
Columbia: Reach
Princeton:Reach
University of Pennsylvania: Low Reach
Georgetown:High Match
I guess the rest of the Ivies (but the mentioned ones are my top choices)
University of Chicago: High Match-Low Reach (Do EA)
Johns Hopkins: High Match
Barnard College: Safety
NYU:Low match-safety
UVA:Low match -safety
Lehigh:Safety

Yale: Reach. Not totally crazy, but its going to be tough. Not likely though.
Columbia: Reach. Not likely.
Princeton: Reach. Not likely.
University of Pennsylvania: Reach. Try applying ED, it makes a difference at this school.
Georgetown: More realistic reach.
University of Chicago: Reach
Johns Hopkins: Realistic reach
Barnard College: Match
NYU: Match
UVA: Depends if you’re in state or not. Its a reach for out of state.
Lehigh: Match/Safety

Also consider:
Cornell: Realistic reach. ED?
Emory: Realistic reach/match
Vandy: Realistic reach
UC Berekely: Realstic reach
UCLA: Realistic Reach

Chance back: http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1617896-chance-me-michigan-usc-ucsb-syracuse.html#latest</a></p>

Yale, Columbia, Princeton: reach
Upenn, Chicago: marginally easier
Low reach for the rest I think

@Jwtis55 @shk909 @giantman
I’m planning to apply EA to Yale. Do you think that makes much of a difference for me? I mean, the EA acceptance rate this year was like 15%, which is way higher than Yale’s RD rate, so I’m really hoping that gives me a boost :P
