Ok, this where I'm hoping to make up for my academic shortcomings. I've swimming since i was 10 and i've been pretty good at it. Junior year i was state champion in 50 free, 100 and part of the winning 200 free and 200 medley relays. This year im hoping to do the same but also break the state records in my events. Ive also qualified for YMCA nationals. Since RI is small, idk how good being state champ is....buttt i've compared my times with those from case and Rochester, and i already have best or close to best times. With all that said, both school are division 3...... which really sucks. Since i wont be getting scholarships, im hoping at least it will help my chances of getting in....HOPEFULLY.

This summer i worked as a lifeguard/swim teacher from a private beach club. I've also been a volunteer assistance swim coach at the local Y for most of junior year.

Sooo are my chances good on making it in to these schools? If they are, then great, if not, oh well, theres always the community college........

Thanks

wat school in ri?

south kingstown
U?

Lasalle...I have no idea about your chances lol sorry I was just wondering where u were from

help guys??

Have you emailed the swim coaches at the schools you are interested in? Can your current swim coach help you with the recruiting process?

oh yea, i forgot to add that the case western swim coach has called me and told me that he is interested in me.

Not sure if engineering is more difficult to get into at RU, but I would think your stats w/o sports would be enough there. Seems you could add more schools to your list. What about Cornell, Lafayette, Bucknell or Lehigh? All Division 1, all have excellent engineering depts and would suspect they all have a swim team

im still browsing for other schools.

I would love to get into those schools, what are my chances there?

bump......

we got an asian michael phelps in the hizz house haha ... umm I got a friend in similar situation being recruited to Washu for football... I'd say your in

thanks, anyone else??

i cant edit my post from some reason

What are my chances at Cornell, Lafayette, Bucknell and Lehigh?

Your stats are ok for those schools but would be a reach (engineering) if you don't get some help from the swim coach. With help from a coach and a little work on your stats I think you could get into all of them.

bumpppppp...
