bump bump bump bump

It would help to include your GPA (weighted and unweighted), class rank (if applicable; give an estimate or decile if you don’t have a number), and intended major, if any.

raise your SAT II’s to 700+ and then you should have a fairly good chance for the UC’s. is the USC scholarship need or merit based? and what is your major, as that makes a difference when applying as well.

chance back please!

I have a 4.2 weighted GPA and a 3.95 unweighted GPA

also, our school doesn’t rank, but top 15% most likely.

im planning on majoring in either international business or some variation of it (eg. UCLA’s economics/ area studies program)

i also plan to join the FBLA club at my school for this year.

bump bump bumpb ubmppp
someone help pleaseeee

^I thought you said that had good grades; 5 Bs and Top 15% status are not good. How do you even have a 3.95 UW?

It would help if you told us what state your are from. But from the looks of it now, you should probably strike Penn and Georgetown off of your list.

California, and i attend a competitive catholic college prep school.

gt and penn are reaches, my goals are more towards usc, ucla types.

also, in my school, that’s good- considering the population.

also, all these b+'s were 89’s.

i have strong rec letters guaranteed, and plenty of ec’s and volunteer service

I would assume that your school is running on a different GPA system, because there is really no way that 5 Bs can equate a 3.95 UW. When colleges recalculate your GPA, it will be more along the lines of a 3.7 - 3.75.

Figuring out your UC GPA would help us help you. You should have a decent shot at all the California schools on your list, though.

UC GPA is a 4.22

and nope, we run on a normal GPA system- my UW is a 3.95, sorry to disappoint

A 4.2 should be fine for SD and SC, a little iffy for UCLA.

And I’m not disappointed; it’s just that you’ve either gotten much less Bs than your post says or you’re misreading your transcript.

SC?

by USC i mean university of southern cal, not UCSC

If your school’s gpa system is normal, then you should have a 3.7 gpa unweighted gpa for 9-12 grade. Your 10-12 unweighted gpa should be 3.8. And if your not in the top 10%, then that could be a killer at some of those colleges.
