Recs: Math teacher: meh, it was okay i guess
councelor: should be good

Essays: Talked about losing 56 pounds and how it completely changed me.
-did realllllly well on the short answers. (talked about how my grandpa, a former ambassador, was kidnapped in Columbia and how he strived to get back).

thats about it. DO I HAVE ANY CHANCE AT ALL???????

NYU doesn't need mid-year reports.

your SATs are similar to mine when i applied the first time around and i was rejected ED. i don't know what your GPA would be on a 4.0 scale, to be honest. (the school system I was in used numbers, ugh) but the fact that you were at a competitive school helps.

Bummmmmmmmmmmmp

Either LSP or rejected.

My stats were a little better and I was put into LSP.

hmmmm... hopefully in, but thanks:D.... anyone else?

Rejected from CAS, most likely.

But since you are from Egypt they may put you into LSP if you distinguish yourself with your essays.

The title of the post did not lie. And probably reject, but you never know.

lol... i hope i get in:D... anyone else?

i don't get what the point of this thread was, if you're just going to react with "lol, whatever" to what the other posters are saying.

way too many C grades however senior year is ok. Remember this is going to be the toughest year in NYU history with a record number of applicants. Reject, if this was 5 yrs ago, u would have easily gotten in.

Also: I don't think applying for financial aid or not will affect your outcome because the financial aid office should be completely separate from admissions. Also as an international student you would not have gotten anything anyway unless you deserved a merit-based scholarship because of your high school grades and SAT, which are not easy to get.

And...I'm not sure if stating your prospective major matters at all or not, but International Relations is an honors-only major. You need to score a 3.65 GPA in your first year to be considered for it.

missamericanpie : Someone woke up on the *****y side of the bed today. What was I supposed to say? I appreciate the input, everyone. Anyone else?

NYU will def like to see the improvement of grades throughout your four years. that's for sure :] buut still on the low end but don't worry. i think your EC's look pretty good. i can def see LSP [as some ppl have already remarked]

chance me plz? :] i'm a snr applying RD

Bummmpppttyyyyy

Bumppppppppp

idk not only are your scores low your gpa must be pretty weak. you DO have good ec's but I don't think that enough. My stepsister was also an international applicant but was deferred to GSP with a 1900 so the way I see it for you it's either GSP or rejection. sorry.

Thank you. Im hoping for the best but expecting the worst. I did, however, write a really strong, personal essay. so hopefully that might help. anyone else????

Bumpppppppp

STOP BUMPING THE THREAD!! you already have input from plenty of people.

Sorry, but your chances of admission to CAS are slim to none. LSP might even be a reach. I also go to a very tough private school. I had straight A's, a 2030 SAT and a lot more extracurriculars, as well as the advantage of already living in NYC, and I was placed into LSP.
