Please Chance me for UCLA: Biomedical Engineering!

I would really appreciate any feedback, Thank You!

what a waste of time on activities. your SAT/GPA is good enough to get you in…

Yea, your numbers+EC’s are good enough/match up (other than that 600 chem…)

Side note: UCLA does not have a separate biomedical undergrad major. EE has a biomed option, though.

You can get into better schools.

oh **** retake that chem mang

@bruingirl01 I’ve found that many schools don’t offer BME for undergrad students. If a school doesn’t, I’m looking towards the alt. majors listed and BME for graduate school.

haha, I know my chem satII sucks, but It what I was hoping for given the time I was able to put into it with everything else on my plate  Math’s a strong point though, so a 790 is good.

“-17th Ranked Lincoln-Douglas Debater in National Forensics League”

I debated for Carlsbad High School also in San Diego.

And the national tournament was in Kansas City last year…

I’m in “Stoa” a different National Competitive Forensics League. Should have read, “17th Ranked Lincoln-Douglas Debater in a National Forensics League.” We had our National Tournament (National Invitational Tournament of Champions) at USD last May.

Sorry about the confusion.

forget UCLA…go to UCSD for BioE if ur instate…it will be slightly easier when ur takin ur prereqs (no crazy premeds)…or go to hopkins or duke…ur stats might be good enough for a scholarship they have at duke

Yeah…I’d probably go to UCSD, it’s right by my house  I’m looking a lot at JHU though…

What do you actually want to do with your degree? BMEs are having a hard time finding jobs out of undergrad - if research is your goal then you’ll be fine, but if you want to do industry then it will not be an easy process.

This is from a current-but-graduated-in-two-weeks bioengineering major @ UCLA.

I’ve spent a lot of time looking around and am set on pursuing at least a graduate degree in BioE or a doctorate. Many have told me that since BME or BioE is such a niche field, a higher degree is essentially required for success. Thanks for your reminder though!
