Bump before I get to the second page…

Your GPA is low for these schools … if you ranked I’d be able to give you some better perspective but I say in at: Northwestern, Illinois, and Iowa and the rest are up in the air! Best of luck!

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1196782-chances-brown-will-chance-back.html

Thank you! I should also mention that I’m from Illinois, which will hurt for NU and help for Illinois.

I don’t know much about these colleges, but I think the Legacy and strong musical background in your family will help you more than the low grades hurt you. Humanities and music apply wayyyy more to a music major than math/sciences, and privates look beyond grades, so I would say that you are a very low reach for Northwestern.

Your ACT and course rigor is exceptional. Combining those elements with your status as a legacy and adding together your exquisite ec’s, my opinion is that you should be able to get into NW and the other mentioned schools. Good luck!

Your audition plays a huge role on whether or not you get accepted to the music program so I can’t say for sure you’d be accepted into it. Stats and resumes can get you into the college, but skill and talent (and demonstrating it) is how you get into music programs.
I’m not trying to knock on you it’s just a fair warning to really prepare for those auditions. My teacher got a huge scholarship to Temple because his audition was excellent.

Yes, but do keep in mind that I’m applying CAS/Bienen and you can get accepted to one and still go. So if it’s hard to chance for Bienen, you can still chance for WCAS.

You’ll probably get into Smith and BU. Smith, although it is highly ranked, is easier to get into than the other schools in that tier. The Only reason you wouldn’t be admitted to BU is because of it’s influx recently in applicants- even though you are above their credentials. I’m not familiar with the other schools’ stats. Please chance me back-I would appreciate it (I am also looking at smith)
