<p>I'm applying early to Cuny Honors at Hunter College. I go to a very large magnet school in NY (Bronx Science)</p>

<p>GPA UW: 88
We don't do weighted GPAs
APs: AP World, AP Composition, AP Psychology</p>

<p>SAT: 1990/2400
SAT 2s: 800 Math 2c, 550 Literature (yes, I know, pathetic)
ACT: 34</p>

<p>Side Notes:
- My GPA took a HUGE hit in November when my grandmother passed and I had to go to China for nearly a month
- I have babysat my sister daily since I was 8, not being able to participate in a lot of things until recently.
- Took ESL classes until I myself was nearly 9. English has improved dramatically.</p>

Does anyone know how to add the explanation for my low grades during that one term to my application? I don't want to make my college essay another sympathetic death topic, but I don't know how else to provide an explanation.</p>
