Chance a transfer hopeful? Pretty please?

Hi everyone, my name is Albert! You may have seen me around here and there in this subforum. I am applying as a transfer student for Fall 2012 to the University of Michigan. I am hoping I can have a few of you chance me and discuss what I can do to improve my chances in the future, if Fall 2012 is not my year.

Current College: Wayne State University (Honors) (Full Ride)
College GPA: 3.79 (16 Credits)
Residence: Instate
ACT Score: 30
HS GPA: 3.61 (Upward trend throughout)
Transfer Essays: Above average
Notes:[ul]
[] Full ride to Wayne State
[] Waitlisted to UofM for freshmen entrance
[] Student Government President in HS
[] Class Council VP in HS
[] Applying for Econ major in LSA
[li] What will kill me: Failed AP Physics in 11th grade. Went back senior year and passed regular physics.[/li][] Above average course rigor in high school.
[li] Transfor reason: Seeking more extracurricular opportunities[/ul]
[/li]

I feel quite confident in my transfer essays. My ACT is above average. My college GPA is above average. My HS GPA is average, if not below average, that F in AP Physics kills me.

What do you all think my chances are to get in to LSA for an Econ major? Many things are going my way but there are things not going my way too.

Ok **** it I give up lmao.

You hear back yet?

I heard back from neither UofM or College Confidential lol.

Bumparoooo

How many credits will you have total by the end of this year? It really varies with each person; one student had a 3.8 at GVSU and 3.6 HS GPA and got in after one year (idk how many credits) whilst another student had a 3.9 at MSU and 3.6 HS GPA and got rejected with 33 credits total…so it really just depends.

I can see you getting in for the Fall 2012 semester but if you don’t then I can almost guarantee (from what people have told me personally) that you’ll get it for Winter 2013, which is only one semester later if you’re willing to wait that long.

But that aside, I think you have a fairly solid shot as is, looking at how generally close you were in high school.

I will have 32 credits plus 3 AP credits which is typical for many one-year college students. I guess it is a toss up. I’m going to take another 16-18 credits over the summer at a CC too, but that has no bearing currently.
