Chance a transfer

<p>Currently a Freshman At the University of Michigan-Dearborn</p>

<p>HS GPA: 2.87(had a severe respiratory disease for 3 years of high school..still have it. Went to the hospital more than school. ha.)
ACT: 26
ECs: Tennis Team, Symphonic Band, numerous clubs. Volunteering</p>

<p>College GPA: 3.23...ALthough I heard that UMich takes out the - and + out of the grades, if thats true, then my GPA would be around 3.4</p>

<p>No ECs in college</p>

<p>ALready applied around Mid December, sent additional professor recs even though they werent required, and even wrote a letter to the admissions office.</p>

<p>They only take out the pluses and minuses in high school admissions. I believe they just look at your college GPA as whatever the school provides for transfers.</p>

<p>I would say that it's a reach. Since you've only done 1 semester, they will weigh your high school grades pretty heavily.</p>

<p>I know they recommend a 3.5 or higher, but I don't know. It's weird this college thing. I think if it doesn't work out this time around you still have time. Build the grades up, like CCRunner said, you've only been in college for 1 semester. Despite having a very good reason for your mediocre HS grades, it does help to build a strong college record.</p>
