bump chance please!

Your classes are very impressive! I’m sure that if you improve your SAT score you have a great chance of getting into these schools. Your EC’s are great and it’s awesome that you are a part of them. You would have a great chance of getting into those schools, especially with the challenging courses you took throughout high school. I would definitely recommend improving the SAT score, and also, what’s really, really important to UPenn are the essays too! You should go on a college tour if you haven’t already, it’s beautiful.

Thanks for the recommendations. Yeah I plan visiting over the summer!

Your grades are good but your extracurriculars are going to hurt you. UPenn, Stanford, and Caltech are all big reaches. Berkeley and UVA are reaches but more in range, although UVA becomes a little easier to get into if you’re in state. You should be good for University of Maryland, although I don’t know much about the Banneker Key Scholarship.

Thank you for your feedback. When you say they are all “big reaches,” can you give me a percentage of what my chance is getting in right now. Also what should I do to improve my Ecs, should I join a bunch of clubs or intern somewhere over the summer?

Oh also I’m a first generation child attending college in America, if that counts for anything.

^That will help you actually. First generation is a plus.

And I agree with quiksilver. Look at the percentage of applicants accepted to schools like UPenn and Stanford to get an idea of the “big reach” category.

Oh really? That’s great! Yeah generally the ivies and the prestigious California schools have a low admittance percentage <15.

Bump:-)

lol your ec’s are, contrary to what other people are saying, not strong in comparison to other ivy applicants. Take a look at official decisions threads for the schools you mentioned to get an idea of what kind of things ivy-leaguers are doing in their free time

It does not help o be first generation to go to college in the US, what helps is if neither parent attended a college anywhere.

You will need the 2250 to have a fighting chance at most of these schools. Even then, your ECs and lack of awards will make your top 3 very tough.

Thanks for the honest replies! Bump!
