Hi, I'm a female from the United Arab Emirates, starting the application process soon and would really appreciate it if you could help me out with where I'm applying.

SAT scores :1960 (not great, but i'm happy with it..combined best score 2040)
Good GPA, we have a complicated grading system so I dont know exactly where I stand.
AP English- 5 (which isnt so bad as i didnt actually take the course)
Excellent recommendations guaranteed.

I have been playing the piano for 12 years, the guitar for 6, and singing for 3. I play concerts often in local concert halls, have raised a significant amount of money through concerts for charity, and i have a job teaching piano for beginnersand am the only local of my country to achieve a Grade 8 piano diploma from ABRSM, and am now working on my first performance diploma. I was a part of the Harvard Summer Chorus, and i've been singing and playing the electric guitar in garage bands since the 7th grade. (I know this isn't really important, but its really the only EC I have, except that it includes lots of different aspects of the same thing).

Would I be considered a URM? I apologize for the lack of academic information and ECs but my school doesn't offer music, art, chess club or model UN, and doesn't allow remotely interesting student organizations. I hope you can let me know where I stand in comparison to other applicants and what I could do to improve my chances (I still havent done my SAT IIs and have 6 British GCSE results coming out which I am confident about)

Applying to (finally):
Tufts (legacy)
Harvard (I know, a stretch)
Yale (a stretch again...and legacy)
BU
BC
NYU
Columbia( ha)
UCLA

again, sorry for the long post. Any help would be appreciated!

Well there's a ton of money in the UAE and his parents might be major donors. I think Yale would take a development kid with his scores. If not a big giver, no chance at Yale even with legacy. Don't waste the time or money on a Harvard app.

You are not a URM. NYU and BU are good slight reaches if you need no aid.

No, our school does not give class rank..
Gaffe, you say dont bother applying to ivies, is this because of my SAT or my lack of impressive ECs?
Oh and for some reason, everyone on this thread seems to think i'm a guy...
I read somewhere that middle easterns are considered underrepresented.
So you think I would get rejected at all ivies and top tiers because of my SAT score? Even if I got excellent SAT II scores?
I disagree about tufts...my brother got accepted with a 1200 (old SAT) and unimpressive ECs.
Thank you for chancing me and any further advice is appreciated because I would really like to get accepted to one of my top schools at least.

Anything Arab/Asian is not considered URM. Blacks, Hispanics, and Native Americans are URMs. If you apply early to Tufts you may stand a chance, but I would forget about Ivy League schools without bringing your SAT scores way up. The Asian International applicant pool is the toughest pool there is.
