Basically, I'm really interested in global issues and might want to major in International relations, political science, or international busines.
My passion is the chinese language and has to be my favorite thing about school im trying to use my host stay in China as my hook for the essays

Brown University (Pipe-dream) ED
Cornell University ED (If i decide not to do it for Brown)

Wash U St louis
Columbia? (Chance for fun i am curious)
Middleburry

I do plan to study Chinese in college and since chinese is such an unrepresented language for non native speakers will it give me an edge due to China's growing prominence in the world?

bump!! please

I’m really into guys who can speak my native language! :o (well, both my native languages – I grew up bilingual)

Lol, but seriously, I believe the Chinese thing will serve as your biggest hook, especially in the context of your race. I also take it that you’re from Colorado – an underrepresented state at the top schools. Not to mention, a 730 on the Chinese SAT II is a very impressive feat for a non-native speaker! Honestly, you have a pretty good chance if you emphasize your passion for international relations (and perhaps the Chinese language in particular) in your essays. Good luck! :)

Thank you!

I really do plan on putting emphasis on my Chinese knowledge and I was very proud of my 730 on that test xD.

Is Colorado really an underrepresented state? Oh, and will my 3 on Ap Chem really hurt me?

Yes, Colorado is definitely underrepresented, which is a big plus for you since adcoms are generally seeking to attract the most geographically diverse class possible. Oh, and plenty of people have gotten into the Ivies and such with 3’s on AP exams. It shouldn’t have any effect on your chances. :)

I think you have an above average chance at Brown and Cornell
kind of below avg. for Columbia
good to very good chances for the rest

“ACT: Got a 32 composite after retaking a few times”
Aim for 2200+ on SAT or at least 2150 to maximize chances
Don’t take the SAT more than 3 times AT THE MOST…it starts to look like you’re just grinding out a good score. How many times did you take the ACT?!

Well I took 2 practice scored really bad… 26… then took the official one twice first got 29 second 32 ( thank the biscuits)

I generally like to contemplate so its not a chance of not knowing the answer but running out of time math and partially science are biggest obstacle.

BUMP! can someone chance for all the schools?

2150 - 2200 = bad test taker? -.-

Thats estimation if i study my butt off i scored a 1700 on a practice SAT so dont even go there.

Bump

Bump ill chance back

Of what I know:
Wash U (if it’s ED) - high match/low reach
Wash U (if it’s RD) - low reach/reach (10%-15% less chance than that of ED)

also, college admissions is like flipping a six-sided die, so anything can happen

What about other schools?
Why am I low reaches for schools like Emory, Vandy, Wash U and NYU?
