Chance a William and Mary Hopeful

Hey everyone! I'm a long time lurker but a first time poster. I applied to William and Mary Early Decision (I really want to go there) and was wondering how my chances look?

-Unweighted GPA: 3.95 (as of the end of junior year)

-Weighted GPA: 4.32 (as of the end of junior year)

-I've taken 5 AP's/IB's last year and this year (and 1 sophomore year)

-1/298

-ACT scores: 32

-ECs: President of DECA, Vice-President of Spanish Honor Society, I volunteer at a swim clinic (past 3 years), Lots of volunteer work through my church, Varsity Swim Team (4 years), NHS Secretary, Chess Club (2 years)

-employment: swim coach and lifeguard during the summer

-honors/awards: science fair awards (regional level), qualified for regional swim meets, several business related awards, attended Governor's School

-Essay/Recs: My Teacher showed me a copy of my recommendation and it was very flattering :) My essay is also pretty good.

-additional information: in-state applicant, white, male, IB Diploma Candidate, pretty competitive school

So do you think I have an ok chance at W&M?

you're in, IMO

good gpa, rigor of classes, EC + in-state = definite in.

overriding factor, you are a qualified in-state male. The least competitive slot.

Thanks for support guys! Btw, are you both students at W&M?

You will get in.

i think you're in as well

I am an alum, and my son is a sophomore.

Thanks for the replies!

I am a senior at William and Mary. I say you are IN. Good job!

Please let us know how ED goes.

I wish you the best of luck!

Peace,
Pedsox

Thanks for the words of encouragement pedsox! I will certainly let you know how ED goes.
