Chance a Yale Transfer?

Well that just means that we are more optimistic. The fact that we are applying to Yale with the odds against us proves our optimism. Yet we dare to look forward to getting admitted. If we are truly optimistic, we shouldn’t let minor distractions like that hinder our hopes.

I don’t even know what you’re talking about anymore. I think I’m going to go to church now to clear my sins.

i’m saying that we should leave hmom alone

OK so why did you dig up an old thread just to totally misinterpret what she said and put yourself on a pedestal? The arguments have long been resolved, and your motivations quite frankly do not make any sense to me. Out of all of the really good Yale transfer threads out there…you chose this one. Like. Seriously.

I’d like to add in my two cents by saying that HYP are no where near as competitive as hmom makes them out to be. Sure, some of the students there are some of the best in their field, but really a lot of them are just people with decent stats and some sort of passion that distinguishes their application from the rest of the pile. hmom deifies the people at HYP, and most of them are not IMO winners, or Intel Finalists, or Olympic Gold Medalists, or movie stars, or whatever ridiculously high standard it takes to impress people on this forum. My little sis is pretty normal, not a URM, come from a middle class background, what’s more we’re asian, her SAT score was about a 2240 and her GPA in hs was a 94, she just had this one extracurricular that she pursued for a long time, and it was enough to get admitted to Princeton and Yale (not Harvard tho). She says that lots of people at her school (extremely competitive NYC public school) get into HYP with less than amazing stats, and by amazing I mean ranked on a national level, which hmom seems to say is a requirement. So yeah just good luck guys and just do your thing i guess, also just think about the fact that there simply aren’t enough people who are ranked on a national/international level to fill the ranks of HYP

I’m closing this thread as the OP has not posed for several months and further discussion is not serving any purpose.
