Chance a Yankee at these southan' skools'

I am a high school senior and I live in maine.

Stats:
GPA: Unweighted is 88.5/100, which I believe is a 3.3-4? My weighted is around 99/100. my school dosn't rank. I come from a very elite school in maine.

SAT:
CR is 590
M is 730
W is 500
Total(superscored) is 1820

Taken around 10 honors classes, and doubling up with 2 math classes my senior year so I can take calculas in college as freshman.

Schools:
Georgia Tech-
University of Georgia-
Clemson University-
University of Miami-
Florida State-
University of Alabama-

EC:
Work @ soup kitchen 60 hours in summer
Captain of football team
Won various sports and academic awards, ie history
Taken a sport every season in my high school career.

So can I get in?

gtech and uga i'd say you've got a shot at... might need higher SAT scores for UGA, the math is right on target for gtech, but it's tricky to say for out of state. yay for southern schools though:)

up 4 da' night

The Univ. of Georgia is the only school on your list that might reject you since the Hope Scholarship gives decent in state students free tuition & this causes a lot of demand. Although Georgia Tech is the same it receives fewer apps & admits a higher percentage of applicants.

up for the night

Georgia Tech-good shot/high match
University of Georgia-in
Clemson University-don't know enough
University of Miami-high match/good shot.
Florida State-match (harder out of state)
University of Alabama-good shot/match

Anyone else care to reply

You should take a look at Ole Miss. 50% of this years freshman class are from out of state. Known for beautiful campus and coeds. Great college town. It is worth checking out.

definitely in at Alabama. Clemson is a match and ga tech is a low reach because i heard out of state admission is very selective. The other schools i am not familiar with there admission standards.

i think you have a pretty great chance at uga and tech. fyi, tech does have a higher acceptance rate, but it also has a high freshman failing rate..
i don't know much about others though. i'm from georgia. haha.

Probly retaking the sats for the sake of bringing up the cr/writing a bit wouldn't hurt (if you still have time for that), although there is no need to worry about the math section. Your ECs area bit weak. I'd say you've done what you need for FSU. U Miami - 50/50 chance.
You know what you wanna study?

^Not sure where you get that. Tough sledding for FSU. You need to improve your GPA and SAT/ACT.

I think both GA and Ga Tech are reaches for you, though GA moreso than Tech. GA wants to see at least a 1350/1600. Can you retake and bring up the CR/Writing (or is it too late). Look at Clemson or Alabama and Ol Miss (as suggested above).

The 1350/1600 at the Univ. of Georgia referenced in the post above, if accurate, would only apply to out-of-state applicants or for the Honors College at UGa. A 1350/1600 SAT I M & CR score will put you in the top quarter of matriculated students at Georgia.

I can only speak from experience for instate students at UGA, and especially ffor students from the metro Atlanta area. Students from rural areas may be considered with lower stats.

up for the night

anyone else want to respond

if u like Georgia Tech, I think you should take a look at Emory too. People from my school have gotten into Emory with comparable stats to yours.

I think you have solid chances at each of them. Keep it up!

Honsetly, I think Emory would be a big reach

^ really? the naviance from my school shows that the kids who got into emory were comparable to this student.
