Chance + Admission Question?

I was looking at the admission minima for US students applying to the school of science. It says that you must have a minimum of an A-/B+ in precalculus, and two sciences. I got a B in Honors Pre-Calc, AP Chemistry, and BSCS(honors biology). I got a A-/B+ in regular chemistry. Does this mean that I can't get in? Other than that, I have:

3.6 GPA (3.8 if just sophmore and junior year)

2210 SAT I
700 on Reading
800 on Math
710 on Writing

5 on AB Calculus
5 on AP Computer Science
4 on AP Chemistry

770 Chemistry SAT II
770 Math I SAT II
790 Japanese SAT II

I have e-mailed the undergraduate admissions office. I am hoping for a reply soon.

But in the meantime, any response would be appreciated.

I don’t think the admissions office will give you a definitive answer at this time. Your high SAT’s and good overall GPA (McGill does not look at grade 9) and AP scores may compensate for just missing those grades.

You should certainly apply.

Thanks for the reassurance. I hope you’re right!

Actually, you are 100% IN guaranteed. Directly into the ACCEPTED pile.

I don’t know how the admissions process differs for American students but for a Canadian student with your grades would definitely get in. You should apply because you have a great change.

correction: great chance not change
