UCs don’t have affirmative action, but they do look at socioeconomic situations and have holistic admissions so they will be interested in your essays. I really don’t know how people do OOS, since they are full pay, there are more and more getting in.

First and most important is to see if you meet qualifications. Did you calculate that gpa using the UC method? You have to have a 3.4 for OOS. Honors don’t count for weighting for OOS. Only your 2 APs taken soph or jr year will.

Second most important. Are your parents willing to pay full cost?

I think your gpa is on the low end for Occidental, scores are in range. EC is marked Very Important there so make your essays reflect how you will be contributing to the campus life. It is a small college so they will want active people, I’m sure. Pepperdine is a strange place so be very sure you know what you are getting into and it is the right fit for you. Easier to get into than Occidental, I think.

I will be able to pay the tuition
