Got a 28 on my ACT plus writing, but I'm retaking and reaching for a 30. (Though I heard a jump that high is really unlikely.)

Intended Major: Neurobiology, Neuroscience, genetics

UC's I'm applying to:
UCI
UCSD
UCLA
UCD
UCR

Private School's I'm applying to:
NYU
Pepperdine
USC (I might just cut this one out, my gpa just can't compete!)

Any opinions would help me out greatly!
Thank you in advance~ <3

Whats your UW GPA? That is what really matters…
I think you have a strong shot at UCI, UCD, UCR, UCSD (maybe), NYU and Pepperdine. The others are reaches, in my opinion.
And its not impossible to do a 2-point jump on the ACT…I was able to go from a 30 to a 32.

Oh I’m so embarassed by my unweighted haha.

Unweighted: 3.53

Shoot me now haha. :p

UCSD is a match/reach
Honestly, most UC acceptances are based on stats alone…with so many applicants they simply cant read the essays for every single one. You have a strong shot at the lower ones, but not the top 3 UCs. NYU will depend probably on your essays a lot, same with other private schools.

Yeah, I figured.
Thank you very much!

UCI- match/low reach
UCSD- reach
UCLA- reach
UCD- match
UCR- safety
Pepperdine- match/low reach.
USC-reach

I suggest working on your ACT score. Shoot for a 30.
