-Art school- 5x a week after school, 4-5 hours each day to work on portfolio=** In the beginning of my Junior year, My parents and I finally reached an agreement that I would do Art as my major, so I began attending an after-school art school to work on my portfolio. This took a huge chunk of time for me to do homework/study, so my grades began to fall, and on top of that, my dog was ran over, and I had lots of family issues.. I don't know how I'm going to explain this in my essay- and even bother explaining my downward trend..

Volunteer/Community Service:
Animal Shelter: 11, 12
Mission trip to Kentucky 10th grade

Colleges/Universities I'm looking into:
RISD
Cooper Union
Carnegie Mellon
Pratt
Parsons
SVA
Wash U

I'll post up some of my portfolio pieces later~

Questions:
* even if I did well senior year (which I most likely will- since I won't be doing Orchestra/Golf this year, so I will have less to deal with), will colleges notice that? :/ don't they just look at Junior year? (so in other words..I'm effed.)
* for senior year, should I take more academic classes or art classes?

Colleges do not 'just' look at junior year. This is the good news.

Unfortunately, your downward trend potentially could hurt you a good deal.

Have you taken the most rigorous schedule possible?

I don't mean to sound condescending, but why would you take AP statistics if you got a C in a regular non-honors math course?

Admission to an art school depends largely on your art, so we can't really tell you your chances.
