Planning on good essays, hoping for good recs
Thanks for your time (I know this was quite lengthy)

Great academics. Use the essays to convey your passion for art, because if the adcom doesn’t buy that you really care about art, 90% of your EC’s fall apart. You know that you have a solid chance at all of your choices, so I’m not gonna come up with arbitrary percentages.

Lol, Better chance than i have at getting anywhere

good academics. you definitely have a great shot at all these schools. should be in at duke, rice, washu, rice, chicago. HYPS is a reach for anyone, but you’ll probably get into at least one of them.

hm. i’d say your academics make you an extremely strong competitor in the duke, wash U, rice, chicago level

as for the rest
Stanford - reach
Harvard - reach
Princeton - reach
Yale - reach
Columbia - reach
Upenn - reach
Dartmouth - high reach
Brown - high reach (likely)
Cornell - match

really it all depends on how well you can convey your passion for art

i think you mean high match for dartmouth and brown, studystudystduy

lol yeah i guess
maybe not dartmouth, which is still a good chance, but not exactly a high match

i thought nmsf weren’t officially announced until septemberish? and then finalists not until early next year?

Strong application… the Ivy League and Stanford (remember Stanford is not part of the Ivy League) are reaches for most people. My only advice is to condense your list. Each Ivy League school is different (how many times has this been said on CC - search threads if you need more info) and there is no reason to apply to them all. In fact it may hurt your chances because you will have so many applications to fill out. Do some research and find school that “fit.”

Thank you all for your feedback.

@ChoklitRain, I will definitely write my essay about art (hopefully a good one).

@Harvard1009, Thank you for your honesty. I was actually thinking something similar, but I hope my art will set me apart.

@ingette, Yeah, you’re right. I meant that I was commended already, and hoping to be a semi-finalist in the fall (I got a 226 on the PSAT, so that should make the cut for my state).

Wow. Incredible stats, numbers, activities. You definitely have a better chance than most of us here :D

I randomly browsed my old threads and found this.

Just thought I’d update my fellow CC’ers on how I ended up doing.

I didn’t end up applying to Rice, Duke, or Chicago.

I got rejected from Harvard and Princeton.

Accepted to Wash U, Stanford (REA), and Yale.

You have a great chance at an ivy, but HYPS rejects most with your stats and it will come down to soft factors.

Redroses, I’ve already applied, in case you didn’t read my last post. I was merely updating the actual results.

I guess it came down to soft factors:)

@ TheAscendancy – Thanks for updating us on your admissions decisions, and hope you’re enjoying Yale :)
