Chance an average kid for a state school?

<p>Applying to University of Illinois - Urbana Champaign, Engineering out of reach with GPA so chance me for undecided(DGS).</p>

<p>White Male
IN state
GPA UW: 3.2, W: 3.6
2 Cs in Fresh/Soph English, 2 Cs in GYM. (I know, right?)
Went from all regulars in freshman/sophmore to all honors and APs Junior/Senior</p>

<p>ACT: 31(34E(This clearly demonstrates my Cs in English), 26M, 31R, 31S)
Class rank: Top 30% (My class size is over 1000 kids. Public Magnet school, 10th in state.)</p>

<p>Senior Courses:</p>

<p>AP Physics
AP Psychology
AP Environmental Science
Honors Pre-Calc
Honors English
World Percussion Band</p>

<p>ECs
Band - only Senior year
Like 60 hours of volunteer
Tutoring at ethnic heritage centers
LOTS of stuff done at my old elementary school(I elaborated on the whole "giving back" thing in my essay. Also, I'm 3rd generation there)</p>

Hook: My really high upward trend from Sophomore->Junior year->Senior year.</p>

<p>apply to as many schools as possible.</p>

<p>As far as I know colleges dont look @ classes like gym, pottery, stuff like that</p>

<p>so double check if those C’s count, it might help your GPA out</p>

<p>I know for a fact the schools in my state dont look at those (florida)</p>
