My schools (In no particular order)
Vanderbilt
Wake Forest
Santa Clara
UT Austin
Georgia
USC
Loyola Marymount
Clemson
Boston College

PLEASE, I need your honest opinion: Am I being realistic here? Or do I need to come back down to Earth? Also, if you know any schools that are similar to any of the schools I listed, feel free to post them and I’ll gladly check them out. I need all the feedback I can get. Thanks.

dude. your national hispanic scholar. Huge URM hook. Id put your chances at Harvard at 50%. Apply Harvard and SCEA yale or stanford. your shooting too low.

Well you’ve got an impressive list of EC’s. Perhaps a bit scattered, but the 4 years of football and 4 years of lifting is a big plus. Community service could be better, but it’s not bad. Overall EC’s should be a decent plus for you. As far as standardized testing goes, try studying hard over the summer to take the SAT’s at the earliest possible date to see if you can bump them up. As far as the colleges you listed, I think you’re a shoe-in for Wake Forest (had a friend who got waitlisted there this year with similar stats, but you’ve got some nice EC’s, and you’re URM) and Clemson. Otherwise I can’t speak to any of the other colleges. Good luck man.

thanks a lot guys, keep them coming!

bump please

I think you def have a very good chance at most or all of those schools and could even apply to some more prestigious reach schools. The only area you might try to improve is the SAT.

Any schools you suggest clarinetgurl? Or anyone else in general?

anyone?? haha

I really dunnoo your chances.

but I’m bumping because we have kind of similar stats, except yours are slightly better in like every category.

good to go since you’re hispanic… really

Wow, I didn’t think I’d be that well off haha.

just make it seem like you are… really hispanic. on your app… i guess

haha 'ppreciate it

You should be able to use your URM status for your advantage and you have very strong ECs. You should try and improve your scores, and look at better schools haha.

anyoneee??

please…anyone?

I don’t think you’re an average student at all! You have a good chance at all of these schools, especially if you bring up your SAT score a bit… Your ECs are great!
fun fact hah I’m also a National Hispanic Scholar.

Vanderbilt: low reach
Wake Forest: low reach
Santa Clara: match/in
UT Austin: in
Georgia: match
USC: match
Loyola Marymount: match
Clemson: in
Boston College: in

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/735819-i-cant-believe-im-actually-doing-but.html

Haha, I mean I’m just saying that I’m like one of the few around here with an SAT score not in the 2000s and numerous awards looking to get into an Ivy

pwetty please?

calm down. its ridiculous when your thread has more bumps than it does replies ^^

you’re hispanic which helps but you obviously know that. your GPA is okay, and your SAT scores are a bit on the low side. your ECs seem scattered but impressive, still I dont see anything jumping out other than strong community service and sports.
but since you are an URM, i think you have like 70% odds at most of the places you listed. calm down chill breathe and write good essays.
