http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/831914-chances-cooper-union-i-am-urm-please-help-anxious-senior-will-chance-back-4.html

i’m not chancing you because you’re freaking smart and you called yourself average

no way?? seriously??? omg you must be AMAZING! congrats!!! you should be really proud of yourself… sm… wow… (if you don’t know what SM entertainment is, it’s one of the TOP entertainment countries in Asia, let alone Korea. Their artist are DBSK and BoA… just to name a couple.) the chances of being asked to join are slim. lets just say 10,000+ korean fans audition every weekend, but they only have (probably) 2 dozen to 3 dozen trainees.

Almost all of them are matches (of my knowledge). Columbia… less of a reach then a pure “reach” but not a low reach. I think you should send in your ACT score instead of your SAT score, since Columbia accepts either.

Congrats again on SM… (sorry about writing a lot about sm. I really wanna be a performer in Japan or Korea, like a singer or actress. so… :stuck_out_tongue: but seriously, congrats and i bet you deserved it 10000%).

If you mean average in terms of the applicant pool for the schools your trying to get into then you are right.

As long as your application (essays and such) match your stats, you’ll get in somewhere for sure. In terms of Cornell, if you know you want to do buisness, look into the AEM program. Its supposed to be pretty good, and if you get in and decide to go, it is one of the few majors where you actually have to do some work to do the internal transfer.

PEQXC2012: I like to consider myself average by CC’s standards. :P

rana3: Haha I had the audition when I was in 9th grade but I never really understood the significance of it until recently.
And yeah, I am going to submit my ACT instead of my SAT.
Good luck on becoming a performer in Japan or Korea, I hope you do well ! (:

thefool: Oh! I never knew about the AEM Department, haha. Thanks, I think that I’m going to do Cornell Agriculture and Life Science now.

Thanks for the responses, guys, but can anyone chance me on each individual college?

Yeah, the respective admissions departments :P.

You’ll be fine, you would have to be increadibly unlucky to get rejected at all those schools. You have good grades and solid ec’s, but you will likely not get in everywhere because of your standardized test scores.

The most productive thing that you can do at this point is to make your admissions essays remarkable.

glad I could be helpful (small pennies add up, right?)

thank you~! good luck on your journey too!

UCLA-low match (but be careful many vals/sals in SoCal use UCLA as a “safety” so sometimes weird things happen), but I would say very good chance.
UC Berkeley-match
Cornell CAS-very low reach
Boston College-match
UChicago-depends on essay, if they’re good, your in probably, bad?, then most likely not.
Columbia College (assuming the one in NY not Chicago)-reach
NYU (Chance for both Stern and CAS please (= )-CAS is a match, Stern is a very low reach.
Georgetown-slightly less of a reach then Columbia
USC (Marshall)-match

thanks for chancing me.

Question, what school do you attend? I’m from Southern California also.

UCLA - you should be fine.
UC Berkeley - you should be fine.
Cornell CAS - Ivies are always hard to chance people for, so I’m unsure.
Boston College - you’re in.
UChicago - you should get in.
Columbia College - Unsure.
NYU (Chance for both Stern and CAS please (= ) - In.
Georgetown - In.
USC (Marshall) - Should be in.

CHANCE ME BACK, please.

kraziespaghetti: I go to Cypress High in Orange County.

And I already chanced you. :P

Oh. I thought you might go to Troy High School.

Nah, I know of that school though.

Um
UCLA & Cal - In / High Match
Rest - Don’t really know

You should be in all of them. They’re all on the match-low-reach range. Cornell looks like the hardest one, but I think you might be able to pull it off.

you stats look really good. sat/act scores a bit low but other than that, you’re fine

UCLA: in
UC Berkeley: in
Cornell CAS: high match
Boston College: in
UChicago: match
Columbia College: reach
NYU (Chance for both Stern and CAS please (= ) CAS: in, Stern: high match
Georgetown: in
USC (Marshall): match

average?

-taylor

omggg… you’re so set! dont even stress!!
good luck !
im sure you’ll be really satisfied with were you get in ahahah

will you chance me… i’m no where near you… or close to your standards of AVERAGE!
