Hi, I am an international student from Germany and am currently applying or going to apply these schools for their business program:

Notre Dame
Villanova
University of Michigan
Washington University
Emory College

My Stats:

Grades: 6 A's and 4 B's, but school does neither calculate a GPA nor give a class rank

Other: - Ethnicity: white

- essay's read by an Babson alumnus, seem to be very good as well

I hope some people will chance me, because I have really NO idea how realistic it is to get into these universities with my stats...

Thanks in advance :)

bump…please chance :)

I am sorry to tell u this, but you aren’t even near to awesome.in fact i know of sumone with 2190 SAT 3.78 gpa and top 15percent but got rejected at most of your listed schools

well awesome was not really meant seriously…could you be more exact? which schools you mean?

brandeis, michigan, emory and washington.you might have a shot at the others you know.

your SAT score is not enough. I am also an international student. I feel nervous to apply to these schools on your list with 2010 in SAT. So i will apply to alot safety school, such as Texus A&M. you can check my profile out. i suggest to apply some UC schools. A Question, Why Babson?

wellliu, you spelled Texas incorrectly.

fabianha, your SAT scores are definitely low for most of your schools. I can say that you have too many high reach schools and you should definitely apply to safeties and more matches.

@wellliu: well, one of my teachers sent two of her sons to Babson and suggested that I should apply there as well. She also mentioned that 1200 in CR and Math should be enough get admitted at Babson, so I searched for other schools that are on the same level.

@R3d3mpti0n: I actually do not want to study at any university in the USA I get admitted to, but want an excellent education that I am willing to pay for. Moreover, I do also have alternatives in Europe and Germany, but it would be really nice to study at one of the mentioned universities.

I see, but your idea of excellent education doesn’t come simply by desire. I’m not sure how much of an advantage not applying for FA gives you, but are you able to take another SAT and increase your score to maybe 2100+? If so, you have a shot at the above colleges albeit your ECs are a tad few and relatively unfocused. But hey, if you have options in Germany and Europe, then I say apply to all of these schools and see what happens! If you get in to one you love, go for it. Otherwise, go get a European education :P

I hope you get into Babson ED. You’re gonna love it in the States. I can’t wait to go back there myself, but I still have this last year of HS to slave through.

I mostly agree with you, but it is hard to raise the score because English is not taught in Germany in the the way the SAT requires it and it is quite hard to raise the verbal score in that short period of time…I wish I had begun learning for the SAT earlier, because I was surprised how early one has to apply to an american college.

+new EC: member of the school team for participation in the European Youth Parliament

Schools don’t teach the SAT, you have to work on it yourself. Yes, US application deadlines are early compared to those of other countries, but admissions offices use a LOT of time processing apps, so it’s all understandable. If you’re still a junior, you’ve got a whole year to raise that SAT score and it’s definitely possible. Heck, I went from a 1980 to 2230 in a year and a half and I’m one of the dumbest guys I know :stuck_out_tongue: so it’s definitely possible to get an awesome SAT score!

Bayern muniiiiiiiiiichhhhhhhh!!! Kloseeeeeeeeeeee!

I am in my last school year :stuck_out_tongue:
Of course school do not teach the SAT, I mean we are talking more about the history of English speaking countries rather than reading books.

My answers must sound like bad excuses, but thats definitely not what I want to say :D

actually i have no idea with the babson college. it sents me emails pretty often but i don’t think i have joined their mailling list. So i started to do some research to find out its rankings, popular majors and location. It has pretty good bussiness department but i can’t find any rankings things. If it is a really nice business school, where is the rank? Instead of totally for your teacher’s decision, i think you need to really know Babson first.

well, of course i did some research before i applied.
some rankings on babson:
