<p>Please help me with chances for UMD College park and other similar schools. Here are my stats:</p>

<p>3.3 UW/3.8 W GPA (upward trend, only a 2.9 in freshmen =<em>(, which is the easiest year)
Hardest rigor available-7 AP's by end of high school
SAT-760 Math-640 Reading-700 Writing
EC's- pretty bad =</em>(
Asian-Computer engineering major</p>

<p>I think you have a chance at these schools. I don’t know much about UC Davis though…</p>

<p>How is your school ranked? Do you know your rank?</p>

<p>EDIT: How did you do on your APs? What major are you interested in?</p>

Are you only applying to these schools?</p>

<p>EA to all available. Yes, thats why I’ve been asking for many chances, I dont know what I’ll do if I dont get into any of these schools.</p>

<p>Have you considered any others? Maybe AU or GWU… Have you voiced these concerns to your guidance counselor. If those don’t work out, you could always apply RD to some other schools. You get EA results in December right?</p>

<p>Everyone says I have a good chance at UMD/Penn, but IDK why. My GPA seems low for their 4.04 weighted avg. My SAT should be above average.</p>

<p>Do you have a Naviance account? You could check there…</p>

<p>For my school, Penn State average GPA was 3.54 and UMD-CP was 3.66 on 4.3 weighted scale.</p>

<p>hmmm, that seems inaccurate. My school’s average is higher than the average for all students. Maybe your school is really high ranked. But do you think they’ll let me in, since my SAT is part of their top 25% (not by much tho, barely ahead of middle 50%)</p>

<p>If you have an above average essay - i wouldn’t even stretch to say a good essay - you will get into all of these schools, maybe even with some scholarship offers.</p>

<p>That’s a possibility. Yeah, my school is highly ranked. You should also work on having the best essay like mustangman suggested.</p>
