<p>Well, what do you guys think? Any chances at scholarship money too at these schools?</p>

<p>Schools: SUNY Buffalo, SUNY Binghamton, SUNY Albany, CUNY Macaulay (at Hunter College), Duke University, Johns Hopkins University, George Washington University, NYU Stern, Cornell University - ILR School, Columbia University, Brown University, Boston University, Yale University. </p>

<p>Stats:</p>

<p>State: NY
School: Public High School
SAT: 2260 (W: 770, M: 750, CR: 740)
GPA (Unweighted): 94.5%
Rank: 50/460 (Upward trend from Freshman year to Senior year) (sort of sucks, I know =)
AP's: About 14 by graduation- 5's on all of them taken so far.
Courseload: Hardest possible.
Recs: Excellent from passionate teachers (saw them) along with a supplementary well-written rec from one of my political experiences.
Intended Major: Political Science or Economics
Background: Asian, Middle-Class</p>

<li>Very involved in politics, especially in two organizations on the state/national level. Founder of club at high school, etc.</li>

<p>Your essays are going to have to be very, very good if you want to go Columbia, Brown, or Yale. Nothing really stands out.</p>

<p>Columbia, Brown, and Yale are reaches. I think that Cornell is a little bit of a reach as well. Just make sure that, as mentioned above, you have excellent essays to make up for the GPA. The upward trend helps too.</p>
