So Thank you so much for taking the time to look at my post. I would be very happy If you guys could leave me some feedback. I know that SAT/ACT scores are Important but they are only 1/5th of what colleges look at. I believe that I am middle 50 % for test score, but I think I shine elsewhere :)

bumpppp 10char

If you have an associate’s degree now, I would say you’re more of a transfer student, if anything! I’m no adcom, of course, but your story is interesting. For the Ivies and JHU, I would raise your SAT/ACT/SAT II. On the plus side, your awards/volunteering/ECs are enviable. Emory could be a minuscule reach. Good luck!

DUKE-match
UPENN-low reach
EMORY-in
JHU-in
DAVIDSON-in
STANFORD-reach (for everyone :P)
COLUMBIA-(reach for everyone :P)

Your SATs are good, but your GPA is AMAZING. You’ll definitely stand chance. Also consider more high-ranking schools; most of them take GPA as the most important factor. Definitely submit your SATs (since you can’t really take it again). But DON’T submit your Lit score (560 is far too low, I’m sorry to say). Just remember not to send in anything that could potentially hurt your app.

And btw…87 people in your classes? Seriously?

DUKE-reach
UPENN-reach
EMORY-match
JHU-match
DAVIDSON-match
STANFORD -reach
COLUMBIA-reach

I guess your standarized tests could be better but your gpa’s very strong. Good Luck!

DUKE-reach
UPENN-reach
EMORY-match
JHU-slight reach
DAVIDSON-match
STANFORD -reach
COLUMBIA-reach

You should only submit ACT’s and your GPA and extra curriculars are very good so that should carry a lot of weight

Thanks guys, yeah they limit the amount of kids that can come to my school each year since its so rigorous. My class size is small because many dropped out. I cant really do anything to improve my scores its too late :(

So should I just leave it at that… Just submit my ACT as I have already done? Or should I also rush deliver my SAT to those schools w/o the subject tests… Again thank you for your words of wisdom.

Anybody else chance me :D??

Tom8… Although I have an Associates Degree I still apply as an undergrad as Ivies/ Private schools will not Accept my credits. But I will take higher level classes straight away. I know its a very weird situation.

really though, a lot of ivies and other schools care more about GPA than scores. I have two friends who now at Penn and Hopkins who had low SATs but high GPAs.

you should submit all of your scores, most of these schools do not allow score choice. I would submit your ACT because its better than your SATs

it doesn’t matter, because the collegeboard website gives you score choice and schools will not see anything that you don’t send
