<p>Hi guys it would be awesome if you could chance this indian out for his dream school UChicago!</p>

<p>Race: Indian
Trilingual-english, telugu, hindi</p>

<p>10 AP classes in total
4's in Human geo, european history, language and comp. And U.S. history</p>

<p>Gpa: 3.5uw/3.81w (low, I know) (school doesn't rank but I'm between the top 25-30%)</p>

<p>ACT: C-35 , M-35, S-35, E-35, R-33, essay-10</p>

<p>Sat subject tests: Math 2-730, US History-740</p>

<p>Teacher recs- pretty good, my honors precalc teacher and my AP english teacher, plus a supplementary from my AP macroeconomics teacher</p>

<p>And a counselor rec as well( she said she wrote a lot wbout my community
service to the school as a part of student government)</p>

<p>Essays: I did the Heisenberg one and its probably one of the best essays I've ever written, it clearly shows my love of economics. My common app one is really good too.</p>

Ambassador torch award (this is given out to less than a hundred kids each year by BPA)</p>

Tons of community service through organizations and clubs </p>

<p>My school is only in its fourth year right now so a lot of clubs and facilities weren't wvailable to us right from the start. </p>

<p>I believe you are not allowed to both ED to Penn and EA to UChicago. I could be mistaken.</p>

<p>It’s probably really hard to get in as an Economics (or bio) major bcause if you think about it, you’re going up against all the other Economics major. Now usually intended major doesn’t matter but just think of all the applicants that are going to be economics majors and compare that to the percentage of the incoming class that are intending to be econ majors and obviously it becomes apparent that many econ majors were rejected. Which makes sense because if they didn’t take that into account they’d have a class full of econ and bio majors and uchicago is all about learning from people in disciplines that are different than yours so yeah. This is all just conjecture of course and maybe I’m being a bit too analytical. </p>

<p>Well your test scores and extra curriculars are good but to uchicago transcript and essays are by far the most important everything else is supplementary so your GPA could be an issue…</p>

<p>You said your essays were good but it seems like you wrote about economics? My only concern with that is admissions must read hundreds of essays about economics and they might be bored with that sort of approach (well I’ve gone though a lot of uchicago admissions threads on cc and also the “post your essay” thread and really the number of essays about economics was overwhelming) </p>
