BumpppPppppppppp

Your grades and ACTs are both in the ballpark. (ACT, maybe a smidge below average, grades maybe a smidge above average). Your ECs also look about average (don’t take this badly, they’re great, but this is common for NU admittees).

I hate to say it, but EVERYBODY thinks they write a great essay, and you don’t know your recs.

So – it looks like your application will be competitive at NU. Certainly no great weaknesses. It really comes down to a numbers game.

You should apply.

I am wondering how a 25 on the science section of the ACT effects your applying at a Biological Sciences major?

Thank you for your input! Cal mama, I had similar thoughts; however, I’ve taken two science classes per year all of highschool with straight A’s, and participated in wustl summer scholars program the past two summers taking college science courses (biomedical ethics, psych, chemistry and biology), earning A’s in those as well. Something about ACT science never clicked for me though…
Also, the average science score is significantly lower than the others according to most data sets, so I’m hoping that is taken into consideration. It’s odd that my English and reading scores were so high, honestly, as the only classes keeping me from a 4.0 were in the humanities…

Students in our area notoriously do not do well on the science section of the ACT so I completely understand that! There is something odd about that particular section of the test that trips many kids up. My D also scored all 35s and 34s but got a 27 on the science. Go figure! Hopefully the admissions people know this about the ACT as well. Good luck!

Stealing your outline.(:

so did you get in?
