Thank you already for reading my humble CV and thanks in advance for anyone who will chance me.

bump bump bump?

ok, so without wanting to sound harsh, i think your ecs are below average for ivies. i mean the rest of your application is really good (even tho 27 seems to be a very small class, do you have classes in your country or years- i first misunderstood “class” as my actual class, but it is the number of all students that are at the same age as you)
wow, how did you get such a high cr score, and such a low writing (i mean, it´s still more than many can dream of, but that´s unusual ^^)
anyway, i can only speak for the ivies, i don´t know enough about the others to tell you, but i think if your essays show real passion in one of the ecs then you have a good shot to get in at least one ivies (and since this is probs harder than getting in the other schools, you should be in there too)
chance me back, please ^^

thanks, and good luck

it’s going to be very very very hard to be honest…while if you were american you probably would have a very decent shot, the international status will hurt you. The students that are applying to those schools from abroad are probably brilliant i.e more than a perfect gpa and perfect score.what about your toefl scores those are important i believe. i would encourage you to look at Uchicago, Duke, and Cornell they have great financial aid and a little easier to get into–i would also apply to al 8 ivies just because they all have amazing financial aid and im sure you’ll get into at least one. Apply to the top 15 schools and you’ll hopefully be into one

Chance me back

Considering your parents’ $25000 annual income as your only source, what will be your maximum estimated financial contribution.

efc doesnt work bc it’s based on here in the US

^^^
EFC works for internationals also. The higher the EFC, the greater the chance of admission of an international. Because financial aid is so competitive for international students, a greater contribution would surely help at ‘non-need blind’ schools.

I think the maximum EFC could be $5000. Does that help a lot?

As well as oberlin and most likely amherst

Willketchup is simply incorrect. Those schools have very little money for intnls and will only give that much aid to a few Koreans each year. The competition for those seats is brutal.

There are no safeties for a Korea needing an almost free ride. The ivies will be near impossible–they will get Koreans with extreme accomplishment and national awards.

Use the search function here to find lists of schools that give money to intnls. Focus on those with low Asian populations in places like the Mid West and South for your best shot.
