<p>hooks/unusual circumstances :
-I've moved to several schools and I viewed it as quite challenging
-The project/initiatives I've done with my Leo club. We put ssome boxes in spectacle shops around singapore to collect used glasses which then will be recycled and donated overseas. In thsi intitiatives we had some support from one of the polytechnics in singapore and one of the biggest chain of spectacles shops in singapore.
-I have witnessed the riots when I was in Indonesia and became a refugee.

<p>Well, that's a glimpse about me and I am really sorry for my grammar. I'm not a good story teller/writer either;I'm sure you can see that hahahaha I just hope it's not gonna cause a problem in making my essay.</p>

<p>You seem qualified academically and have very solid ECs and very impressive awards. Being Indonesian seems like it would be a plus for you, probably not a huge plus but nevertheless a plus. If your essays are amazing I would say you have a pretty good chance. I don’t like to say “great” because to some level Ivy admissions are a crap shoot but I think it would be 50%+ acceptance, probably 55%-65%. With poor essays and recommendations I think your chances diminish immensely. You seem like a great candidate. I wish you luck! Overall chances: Solid.</p>

<p>I say OP is in. URM + first gen (I’m assuming) + if you wrote anything about being a refugee + good SATs for someone not from the US = in. I think this is one of those rare times where I can actually say you should get in.</p>

<p>@soulful : yes… that’s a city wide conflict between nationalist and the supporters of the rebel movement… Snipers, bombings,etc…</p>
