Comments: my ACT and SAT score is pretty weak, what are my chances?

Well, I don’t know about your ACT score, but your SAT score seems pretty decent/good. I’m pretty sure you can get in with that score. But the main thing is your GPA. Without knowing that, you can’t really feel as to what shot you have. But your ECs look really good. Based off of that, I’d have to say you have a pretty good shot. But GPA’s pretty important and without that, you could go from being a match to a reach. Good luck!

An Asian Canadian?!? You’re in

^Why do you say that?

The OP’s GPA is “IB Diploma 41/45” which is quite a good score, certainly in range for admission.

Admissions is not supposed to know that the OP is Asian. Btw, Michigan already has plenty of Asian students.

41/45 is 98percentile out of all the people who take on the IB full diploma (usually only the better ones)

Oh, my bad, I didn’t know how IBs worked.

So, being Asian is a bad thing if you apply as an international?

Ya but how many of those asians are canadian? lol. Well being asian probably doesn’t help you as much as it would at other schools, international or otherwise. We’re packed to the gills with 'em.

random question: Would being a premed at UMich be super competitive then (with all the ‘asian-ness’)? Do you think it is reasonable to shoot for a 3.85+ GPA?
