Hey I am applying to uwash this week and I'm really nervous its one of my top choices
technically i'm not an internatinal cuz I am an american citizenship but I live in Israel
so anyway
SAT-1950 (670, 660, 620)
gpa-96.67 unweighted
school doesn't rank
toughest curriculum available in the Israeli school system
ECs-
I've been playing composing and performing piano for about 12 years
about 150 hours of community service at library and making care packages for soldiers during the war
Jewish heritage trip to Poland with 60 hours of prep before
worked as a camp counselor
worked as a file clerk
tutor kids in my class in english

schools in Israel don't offer student government or clubs I hope they take that into consideration

thanks in advance I really appreciate
oh and are there any chances of receiving FA?

Your stuff looks pretty good.
As long as your essays were pretty good and you made your extra curriculars sound nice, I wouldn’t worry too much.

As far as financial aid (which is what I assume FA stands for)… I wouldn’t hold my breathe for scholarships or anything straight from the school, there’s very little for anyone that isn’t in- state… being a US citizen, you should be able to apply for FAFSA and possibly get money from there… look around, you’re bound to find SOMETHING.

Good luck! Hopefully see you on campus in September (that’s for both of us, I’m still waiting for an initial review…)

wow thanks! I really hope you guys are right!
I think my essays are pretty good but I heard that the essays are a really important part of the admissions proccess at UW is that true?
I hope their need based aid is generous at least!
Good luck to you too meaghen!

I think the essays are pretty important. For a lot of people its a make or break. They can probably tell if you wrote your essays in 2 hours or if you took a month to revise them. They probably don’t care about the topic as long as they learned about YOU as an INDIVIDUAL and how you’ve come along on your some-teen years of life, how youve learned from mistakes, etc.
