Hello~! I'm a South Korean student currently living and studying in a third-world country in Latin America (I was born here and have double citizenship).

The reason I'm posting this is that I have great scores compared to my classmates and other schools' students, but was wondering how my chances at these schools look compared to students from the USA and other countries. Am I a strong candidate?

I have these schools in mind:

*Brown
*Allegheny
*Rhodes
*Bennington
*Grinnell
*Hampshire
*Hamilton
*Smith
*Whitman
*Amherst
*Beloit

These are my 'stats':

Rank
My school doesn't rank but I was one of the 5 standard bearers of the school chosen according to GPA.

AP/Honors
We don't get AP classes nor Honor classes. Everybody gets the same subjects.

ECs:

I'm not exactly sure of what to write here. Do I write in the Activities section things like Writing/Reading(Literary Club), Drawing, Working, etc.?

Most of my activities are hobbies so I didn't really get into competitions or any 'leadership' posts. What would you recommend writing here? I just started learning French and am planning to take German this summer (it would be winter in the north), should I call that 'Language learning' (sounds weird)?

As you can see, I don't really have highlights in any activity, I just did a little bit of everything (except sports :D). I have no voluntary experience besides that one time I went to work with classmates with poor children because of time constraints and work. Thus, I think my ECs are not really helping me. Should I just leave in blank the 'Activities' section of the CommonApp and just upload the curriculum? Any suggestions?

I will need Financial Aid (dad is currently unemployed), I would expect great RECs from my counselor and teachers and pretty solid essays.

Also, I talk fluently Korean, Spanish and English(self-taught); I talk semi-proficiently a native language from here (should I mention that?) too. I am planning to write that info on my curriculum.

I don't have a major defined, and I don't know what to study yet (planning to put Undecided) but I like languages (maybe English?), Visual Arts and Liberal Arts.

I would also like to know which ones would be what you call 'Reaches', 'Matches' and 'Safeties', I'm afraid I'm lost in that area.

Good luck getting into your universities, people! (Gotta work on those essays...)

Anyone, please? :)

It depends a lot on your SAT scores. If you get 2100 (approximately 700 on each section) your chances for some of those schools woould be pretty good, but since you need a lot of FA, you can never be sure.

I’m planning on taking a Test Sample tomorrow morning. 2000+ seems to be kind of difficult for me, but I will do my best  Let’s see how that goes…

Thanks for the input! I really appreciate it.

Anyone willing to give me tips on the ECs part?

Ramen for dinner :). Preparing myself for college dorm life…

Anybody willing to give me advice? I also want to know if I should send my SAT II scores, please.
