Essays: Haven't written em yet.

I realize that I have a slim chance at said schools given my race+international status. But, I would appreciate any honest evaluation.

I was thinking of applying SCEA to Yale, but I heard it's actually harder than RD due to the large legacy/athlete pool.

EDIT: I live in the states but will be applying as International from Canada.

EDIT AGAIN: My SAT 2's are soon to come. I'm expecting 760~800 on all 3 of them. I realize this assumption may be far from my actual score come the 25th, but please take my assumption and chance :)

Well, it’s always difficult to say with ivys and tops, but you seem to have a pretty solid resume, though I would deffinitely work on those SATs. What will probably be the deciding factor here is the essay. You are a fairly average applicant for the ivy pool, and unless you can take something about yourself and truly embellish it to stand out, then there is a good chance that you will get lost in the applicant pool. Overall, I would say:

HYPMS: reach
Cornell, Columbia, Brown, Dartmouth, Penn- Fighting Chance
Northwestern, Wash U, etc: very good chance

Wow Thanks for the quick response.

Honestly, this is a good resume, but an HYPC resume needs something unbelievable to pop out. The SATs are very good, but not incredible. The ECs show you are involved in the community, but maybe not a major leader. I still think that you will be fining applying to the 2nd tier of schools, like Duke, Hopkins, Wash U, etc…but HYPC are going to be major reaches…

How is the aid program at such schools? (Duke, Hopkins, etc…) for internationals.

And dang, this sucks I tried to show my leadership :(

How unlikely are we talking about here, when you say “major” reach?

BringUpMyPost

To be honest, for an international, you probably need higher SAT scores for HYPC.

Yes, I will be taking it again this October.
