what do you think?

Very low, but not b/c of any fault of yours. Chicago only accepts one or two intl students every year that needs FA.

You’re impressive, and you’d be an extremely strong contender if not for the FA. With it, I don’t think anyone on CC can really guesstimate your chances.

For internationals needing FA, I think it will come down to their essays. They will all be very qualified (over-qualified perhaps) and I believe the distinguishing factors will be their essays.

If your essays are amazing, I think you have a very good shot.

“Very low, but not b/c of any fault of yours. Chicago only accepts one or two intl students every year that needs FA.”

While Collegeboard reports that they’ve accepted 64 international students needing aid. I don’t know who to believe.

Every year approximately two students who need FA enroll. As to how many are actually offered financial aid, I’m guessing no more than 10 students are offered financial aid. 64 students do not make sense.

“Over the last three years, Chicago has offered a total of 4.0 million dollars to 100 deserving students around the world who demonstrated unusual academic and extracurricular excellence.”

Applying international with FA is a sad, sad business. Trust me, it sucks, but it looks like UChicago does give out more than 10.
