Hey, I'm from India, and plan on majoring in a pure science(and maybe a minor/concentration/second major as well).

My app-

A little about my app:

SAT: 2350 (M-800, CR-750, W-800, one sitting, only time I gave it)
SAT II: 800 in math2, physics, chem.

School Grades:
94% in Indian 10th board exams (we have 2 major public exams here, one after 10th grade, one after 12th).
Predicted 92.5% in 12th grade finals.
School marks always around 88-90%.
Mean school marks for my grade is 70%
GPA is 4.0 on a US scale (unweighted).
Top 5% of my grade over 4 years of high school
Highest academic rigor available.

AP's: 5 in eight exams
2 taken in 9th grade (Comp Sci AB and Physics B)
2 in 10th (Macroeconomics and Microeconomics)
4 after 11th (English Lit, English Lang, Calculus BC, Physics C Mechanics)
Plan on taking 3 more this year (Chemistry, Biology, Physics C E&M)
I've taken 11 out of 13 AP courses offered at my school. Most students don't do more than 4 to 6.

Extracurriculars:

Model UN, debate, drama for 3 years (leadership roles in all 3).
Service for 4 years, equivalent to 450 hours.
Organised fundraisers for local NGO's.
3 research projects at companies in the last 2 years.
Intramural sports (not too significant)
Research in 3 different areas under 3 advisers, sent LOR’s from one of them to all colleges as supplementary letter.

Essays – good, about how science influences my thinking, and about my research experience.
LOR - from teachers should be very good, both know me well outside the classroom
LOR from counsellor, not as good but shouldn’t be bad
LOR from research advisor – very deep, personal, detailed and glowing

Colleges I've applied to: Stanford, MIT, Columbia, Penn, UC Berkeley, UCLA, U Michigan at Ann Arbor, Duke, Carnegie Mellon, Williams, Amherst, Harvey Mudd, Caltech.
Prospective major: Hard science – physics, chemistry, biology or computer science.

My high school is one of the most reputed in my city(Mumbai), and sends around 60-70 kids to the US and UK every year, so I guess it should be well known amongst the colleges I've applied to. All of them (apart from Caltech) have accepted some number of students from my school over the last 4 years that I am aware of.

I'll chance back if you want me to :)
