Hey everyone, I applied RD to Lehigh, and I'm from Tunisia ( In case you don't know it, it's in North-Africa ). Would you please chance me ?? Here are my stats.

SAT : 2110, M : 720, CR : 740, W : 650.
GPA : 17.5 out of 20, that's like having a 3.9 GPA in america.
High School : VERY competitive, i got into it after a national exam at the end of 9th grade, so only the best in the state get to go there.
I speak four languages fluently : arabic french english and spanish. And i speak some german and some russian (self-taught).

ECs : i did 300+ hours volunteering and i started a community service club at my school ( it's very uncommon in Tunisia ), i was an exchange student in the USA for 10 months, did some volunteering then. I volunteered at a refugee camp south of Tunisia during the Libyan Revolution. I taught 13 year-olds english ( my brother and some of his friends ) for two summers, helped at cleaning campaigns around the city, i'm a representative of my class in student govmnt. One last thing, i took part in a revolution ( don't know if i can count that as an EC ).

Teacher and Counselor rec : Good.

Essays : I thought they were pretty good. I had my adviser at an EducationUSA center read them and she said they wwere just prefect.

No major awards, we don't have that kind of stuff in my country.

I applied for LOADS of aid.

Thanks for reading through all this, I really appreciate it.

Wow, your SATs and GPA are very impressive, especially your Community Service. I think you’re a very unique and bright student, that Lehigh looks for. Have you considered any Ivys lol? Lehigh also considers senior year courses, to see if you have challenged yourself. But Lehigh should be a definite for you.

Thanks bhawk123 Well I haven’t really looked at Ivies, yet I have applied to UChicago, that’s the most selective school in my list and it’s my first choice !! Thanks again for reading through my post :)

With 17.5 out of 20, if you scale that linearly, you should get 3.5 out of 4.

I don’t know about how they deal with international applicant pool but if that was a US student stat with 2110 SAT, you have an above average chance of getting accepted. Also I am not sure of your chance of getting Financial Aid. I hear that it is limited and quite competitive for international students.

Well that’s the thing, they don’t scale it linearly, because a 20 out of 20 is literally impossible in my country, our educational system is much like the french one. I have been told at an EducationUSA center that a 16 and above is an A in the US !!
