What program are you applying to? Also, just a pet peeve, but if you use an exclamation point, or, in your case, multiple exclamation points, you’re much less likely to get an answer. So, lose the exclamation points!!!

Balthezar , i am applying for mechanical engineering . Bs.ME

Given your SAT scores and class rank, I’d say you’re a match. Good luck! <— Oops

I have a strong chance Despite being an international student?

!! ! ! ! ! ! I am a rebel ! ! ! !

Actually BHhazy, I apologize for misreading your SAT score. I’m more used to ACT. Your ACT equivalent is a 27, and I’m afraid that you’d have to be considered a reach for Engineering even though your class rank is on target. Your SAT IIs are not looked at for admissions purposes. Your being an international student means little as long as you have adequete TOEFL scores, and the ability to pay. You’ll need to get that SAT up to 2100-2200 to be competative on the standardized test side. Here’s the bottom line though. Apply. You’ll regret not trying, if you don’t.

@Balthezar …here :-

Seems like alot of different opinions , and confusing too

That’s all you’ll get here is opinions. I’d say some are more realistic than others…

Again, I encourage you to apply. But, as you can see, you’d be in the bottom 25% range of those accepted as far as SAT goes, thus my reach opinion. Having said that, I’d be happy to see you apply. You’re a good student, it seems, and I think you’ll do fine. I would still encourage you to take the SAT again, or take the ACT to see what you’d get. The application review is not just a numbers game, meaning essays and ECs are important, but with upwards of 30,000 applications/year, you can’t entirely ignore the numbers either.

In addition, Mechanical Engineering has been a very competitive engineering program lately, so you’re up against a good number of applications for a limited number of available spots in a given class.

Again, Good Luck!
