Without any really outstanding math/science achievements, your chances at MIT/Caltech are low. Ditto with Berkeley/Stanford because they are hiiighly selective schools, and you have to be outstanding to get accepted. Your GPA is great, but your SAT score is only average, and nothing really jumps out about your ECs. Add that to the fact that you are an international student who will probably need aid, I’m guessing, and your odds are pretty slim.

Oops, forgot to add- your odds at Georgia tech are MUCH better, its not as competitive of a school. You miight be able to get into Cornell as well, with great essays/recs.

Okey, the problem is that there are no math/science competitions or similar stuff here.
I can probably improve my SAT but its the EC:s that is the problem.

I have thought about starting a company with some friends, would that be something that could make me look “special”?

Its really hard to get EC:s and special experience as a teenager here because we dont have to do this kind of stuff to get in to our universities.

Could you recommend some EC:s that could make me stand out?

I think you would have a good shot at all if you wanted to play soccer in college. If you’d be interested, your stats as a recruited athlete are very high. I’d consider contacting coaches ASAP.

Yes, hemma. If you’re a recruited athlete, that’s your hook. The international pool is tough as there are many qualified applicants for limited spots. I’d consider contacting the coaches if you want to play in college. They’ll tell you what you should do next.

I didn’t mean to call you a liar. It must have sounded bad, but I think you should put more effort into writing your essays in better English so that you don’t seem like some testing robot who can do well on tests but is not speak/write proper sentences… There is a lot of writing in college and you need to be able to write/speak well.
