I will apply for Fin. Aid. Don't want a free ride but I do need some help.
Chance for Hamilton?

From one student from the GCE system to another, the chance threads don’t really paint a very accurate picture, since A LOT of weight goes to the essays. And for a college that lays much emphasis on writing, I’d say worry less on your statistics, which seem pretty fine, and focus on the essays required.

Sorry, I didn’t know how to create a new post, so I’m just going to reply on this one (until I figure out how to create a new thread).

Anyway, can someone chance me?
-Applying ED1
-4.6 GPA (4.7 is the highest anyone has ever graduated with)
-Top 5% (#20 out of 500, though my school does not report this)
-ACTs: E-34, M-29, R-30 S-29
-What I would consider a strong essay
-What they considered, a “strong interview”. (The assistant dean of admissions and the admissions councelor from my area emailed me/sent me a letter to tell me how strong my interview was).
-Many extra-curriculars

@asbjaved- thnx. I am working on the essay right now. BTW even though my A level’s are pretty good my school results are comparatively a lot worse, will that cause too much problems?

@Dbdore: I can’t tell you that your transcripts aren’t that important, because they are, but keep your cool. Its the holistic system that is followed, so a lot of pluses cancel a minus. Just make your essays work out for you. They’ll make all the difference. I know people getting rejected from schools lesser than Hamilton with perfect transcripts, and people with really bad results but an overall good profile making it to the Ivies. So do i think they’ll cause too much problem? Not if you’re well rounded otherwise. Good luck. Hope it works out for us both.
