chance an international?

19 year old, Asian male from Indonesia, studying on ASEAN scholarship in one of the top junior colleges in Singapore(high school equivalent here I guess, the school's used to rank 3rd out of 20, don't know about this year)

SAT I score: CR700/M780/W600 composite: 2080 (1st seating, planning to retake on december)

SAT II score: Maths II, Physics, Chemistry don't know the score yet but i'm pretty confident that it would be in the 780-800 range for all 3

Taking A-Level exams end of this year, so no grades yet but here's the breakdown of the courses I took and what I get in the final year plus predicted grades

Mathematics: A, predicted grade: A
Physics: A, predicted grade: A
Chemistry: A predicted grade: A
Economics: C, predicted grade: A
General Paper: B , predicted grade A
Modern Physics: Distinction
Project Work: B
Foreign Language: B
Overall I should be on the 95th percentile in terms of results. Here we use a point system, on final year i got 85 out of the maximum 90. Predicted is 88. Maybe that translates to (85/90)*4 = 3.78 out of 4.0 GPA

Curriculum Rigour: pretty rigorous I guess, I used up all my credits so I can't take anymore subjects

ECs: Photography Club chairman (won 3rd place in interschool competition), Harmonica Band member (performed for school concerts, charity performances and got gold award for youth festival central judging), performed for Chingay procession (some big annual parade held in Singapore), Multimedia Club member (silver award for interschool web design competition), Maths Olympiad senior category bronze medalist, won 1st place for islandwide engineering quiz

Community service: volunteered to tutor for maths in school, participated in several donation drives, participated in community service camps like "30 Hour Famine" organized by world vision.

Work experience: sadly none. cant get work permit if we are on scholarship.

Recommendations: should be very good

assuming essays are good what are my chances for
RD to these places? taking business or applied maths..

uchicago
NYU
carnegie mellon
upenn
uc berkeley
umich

At both UC Berkeley and Michigan you have to apply for the business school at least a year after being admitted to the regular school--and have to be admitted to the regular school first.

At Univ of Chicago, there is no undergraduate business school, nor any undergraduate engineering school.

Penn (Wharton) is ranked as the top (best) undergraduate business school for almost all programs in the country.

NYU (Stern) is ranked as the second best undergraduate finance program in the country, and gets more international applications than almost any other school.

Carnegie Mellon is ranked as the eighth best business school in the country and has the best combination of business/quantitative modeling (applied mathematics) in the country.

Also, you have to understand that UC Berkeley and Michigan are public schools, and therefore have to give preference to students from, respectively, the states of California and Michigan.

Therefore, understanding the difficulty based upon the above, if you write an excellent essay, and have excellent recommendations, I rank your chances as follows:

Univ of Chicago (for economics--which is the toughest program to get into there): Slight Reach
NYU (Stern)--Match to Slight Reach
Carnegie Mellon--Match to Slight Reach
Penn (Wharton)--Reach
Penn (something besides business or engineering)--Slight Reach
UC Berkeley (pre-business major)--Slight Reach to Reach
Michigan (pre-business major)--Slight Reach
