I feel so unloved.

You're loved, illuminar. You have great ECs but you'll need to improve your SAT for Harvard, et al. Have you considered any of the select liberal arts colleges, like Carleton, Pomona, Vassar? Good luck to you!

I've thought about UChicago, Harvey Mudd, Pomona, etc. but if I stay in Canada the tuition is much lower and I can probably get a large scholarship as opposed to paying huge international fees.

If I can get a great education in Canada for less than it would cost in the US, I would rather stay. The only schools that would justify the difference in cost would be the likes of Harvard, which give great aid anyway.

I encouraged both of my girls to consider McGill. I knew it was an outstanding school and I felt that if a draft was instituted in the U. S. for our obscene war in Iraq, they might be able to hang out in Canada for awhile. ... They didn't listen to me, and now attend Carleton (Freshman) and College of Wooster (Soph). ... You should definitely apply to the Claremont Colleges. Pomona accepted my younger daughter and gave her a nice financial aid package, although she didn't choose it in the end. I'm sure they loved the fact that she was from Kentucky. I'm willing to bet Canada is under-represented in their student population. It's worth a try. Again, good luck!

bump. I'm Canadian, that just barely qualifies as international haha

International is beside the point. If Pomona (or whatever school) is under-represented by students from Canada, they might be willing to give you a better financial aid package than they would for someone from, say, California.

Nono, I meant that for people who probably shy away from answering because the international pool is much different than the domestic one.

on a side-note, my parents lived in Lexington before they moved to Canada and my sister was born there >_>

We live in Lexington, coincidentally.
