<p>Details:
I live in Iowa.
Small private school until ninth grade.
I am a junior.
Currently go to a public school without about 1600 students, I am ranked in the top 30 of a class of about 300.
My GPA is 3.9 unweighted.<br>
This (junior) year, I took AP Government and AP Spanish.
I received an A in AP Gov and a B+ in AP Spanish.
PSAT Score: 207
ACT Score: 30, essay 10.
SAT Score: 2080, Critical Reading 720, Math 640, Writing 720.
I have taken all accelerated courses and next year plan to take AP Calculus and AP English, begin French, Economics, Intro to Psych (college credits), Sociology, Genetics, and American Literature.
I am a commissioner on a city commission where I live.
I am a four year varsity swimmer, and will be a team captain next year.
I started tennis this year.
I am a member of our school's volunteering club.
I have been on mock trial since my freshmen year and in my freshmen year our team went to state.
I teach Sunday School and volunteer in the emergency department of my local hospital.
I have worked two jobs, and am currently a YMCA lifeguard.</p>

<p>My best advice… Expand your list. College admissions are such a crap shoot. Add more matches and slight reaches. Come next April, I guarantee you’ll want to have as many options as possible. I speak from experience.</p>
<p>I am quite glad I ended up applying to 13 colleges in all (with 2 being safeties). I’m actually attending a school that I didn’t really know much about originally. In the end, it gave me amazing financial aid, it’s a terrific school (11th in USNWR colleges rankings), and the Cali weather is unbeatable! You should think about applying to the Claremont Consortium. If you want other suggestions, feel free to ask. Also, you could post what characteristics in a college you’re looking for in the college search forums–that’s where I first heard out about the college I’m going to. It’s odd to think that an online forum basically shaped my life! Good luck, this will be a fun but stressful time for you!!</p>
