Should I bother for Aerospace Engineering Regular Decision or is my GPA way too low?
Will they consider my circumstance?
Thanks

Your fine, because I would think a uw of 3.55 with all of those APs would come well above a 4.0, plus your SAT is great. The positive is you are from California, and I am sure if you have been ■■■■■■■■ you realize that the real hard OOS is from NJ/NY and UMDCP has stated they are trying to diversify even more so nationally.

RD is harder than ED, but I think you still have the otherall strong resume with gpa, SAT, rigorous course schedule and strong ec’s.

Thanks for the chance, and the evaluation, I hope they offset my GPA with scores
thanks

Your scores and okay GPA should be able to get you into the UC system, any reason why you want to go to UMD? And you should be able to get into the engineering school, but since you didn’t apply priority you might have a hard chance getting in, since they accept most of the freshman class from priority applications.

Well, it seems like the only UC’s I can get into with confidence are UCD and UCI. But UCSD doesn’t seem like a sure shot. Also the main reason I am applying OOS is because OOS publics have the best Aerospace Engr. Programs ex: UMD is like 7th or something.
But UCLA is like 17th and my chances there are like close to 0.
Thanks for the information on priority.

UMD is also right down the road from Goddard, where many kids like Astros intern for NASA. Much better to inter as an Aero Engineer with the big players and that is why it is a reputable aero engineering school within the nation.

yep, aero and astro seem all about the interning

Not only is Goddard close, but there are a BUNCH of UMD professors who have ties there…either working on various projects through the year, or have worked there in the past. If you do well in your classes, there are several different programs available to work at NASA. There are several other opportunities in the DC area—I think you have a good chance here.

Thank you for the info and the chance
