<p>I woudn’t pay too much heed to the chances given here, unless the chance-er happens to have specific experience with international applicants from Germany.</p>

<p>As for how US schools compare to Oxford, a lot of it is up to pure preference – do you like tutorials or do you like intellectual holisticism? But from what I gather on the prestige level, despite what the various “world rankings” (which all have British or research bias) would suggest, Oxford is a cut below Harvard and Yale and probably on par with Columbia and Williams.</p>

<p>I’m planning to study on my side of the Atlantic now. Oxford was my only overseas school. <p>It is impossible to compare Oxford with any of the American universities on your list, because there are strengths and weaknesses in each course. </p>

<p>Getting into Oxford to do PPE is like…amazing. I mean seriously, seriously impressive. Most of the highest achievers in my school (which is very competitive) over the past few years have been rejected. So well done!!! I would go there.</p>
