I’m basically in the same situation. I have a bit better GPA, but your ACT scores are better then my SAT (1650). I am also on a very high upwards trend, I have a great GPA this quarter (3.7). I applied ED, and have great recommendations, and essay. Do I have any chance at all?

I always understood that when it comes to things like upward trends, we’re talking about major developments in a student. So as a result they will really look at the essays, any recommendations from people that know you over the course of this (though Syracuse doesn’t ask for these), and your schedule more critically.

Only my opinion… I’m not an admissions officer anywhere or anything close but maybe this helps.

you have a pretty high chance. SU loves upward trends. arts & sciences is the easiest school at SU to get into. i’ve met a lot of people here who scored in the low to mid twenties on the ACT, and they are beyond stupid. you’ll enjoy the curve after you get in.
